OS-Cubed, Inc. announces release of PDF scanner and OCR software.

The PDF Scanner consists of 3 components.  The first component is a standalone service that runs on a system to load PDF Image files, OCR them, and output the results as Text over PDF files.  It also enters all of the information from the document into a MS SQL Full Text Index to allow the results to be searchable.

The second component is a DotNetNuke .NET based module plug-in that allows you to search the database, return a list of resulting documents, and open the documents (directly to the searched information).

The third component is a changeable plug-in that interfaces iPIN based member data and project data with the searched document to enhance the search characteristics.  This third component could be customized to work with other member/project oriented applications.  The interface to the third plug-in is via XML files posted to a particuler directory.

Although this solution is currently deployed for Builders Exchanges using the iPIN software it could be easily adapted to other industries with similar requirements.
