Champion Photochemistry, Inc. transitions off of Kodak network to independent servers - 05/03/2007

I just want to summarize what we accomplished this last weekend with our OS-Cubed team:

• Over 70 machines were reformatted, reimaged and redeployed, the few that failed were replaced by spare machines.  Every active machine on the network at the time of conversion has been converted - we'd originally shot for just doing ½ that weekend and the rest later in the week.
• Over 30 people's email and "P" drive settings were transferred
• Shared "S" drive space was backed up and re-deployed on the Champion network.
• The VAX system is up and running on the new network, and moved to a new "flat" topology with a single network.  Network communications issues were debugged and the final result seems to work better and faster than the original network.
• The internal network was almost completely re-wired, and redeployed on ½ the original number of ports we had.
• Backup was deployed to the servers
• Antivirus was deployed to all servers and workstations
• GPOs were deployed to workstations, based on use patterns, locking down use to only required use, and restricting user permissions to be sure they can't do unpredictable damage to their machine, or use it in a manner not suited to their business purpose.
• The Cisco Firewall and CSE module were deployed to protect Champion Photochemistry's email stream and internal assets from hacking and viruses.
• "S" drive information was moved to the new servers, and security replicated from the other domain.
• All specialized lab equipment (about ½ dozen workstations) software was backed up, redeployed and returned to full production.
• Over 100 email and user accounts were configured and deployed.
• 24 shared network printers were configured and deployed
• All essential information is now stored on the server and backed up, including email, "P"drives and "S" drives.
• A server-to-harddrive solution was deployed to actively backup the servers.
• Network policies were implemented to prevent access to non-company approved sites
• Windows update was deployed to all systems.
• Office 2000 was deployed to all systems
• Remote Desktop was deployed to all systems (both as host and client)
• A bad hard drive was identified in a server and repaired
•  We're in the process of repairing a bad tape drive in the server.
• A vpn solution was created and implemented to allow remote access
